Refitted rear hubs today, very difficult to get the the axle hub nuts back to their original positions and I didn’t achieve this on the nearside. The manual says .004″ play is acceptable in the hub bearings but I can detect none at all, maybe something to be checked again after a bit of running. Nearside hub is fitted, offside is on but not tightened up. I had to make a replacement locking screw and castellated nut, as each axle nut requires two and one was missing when I stripped it all down.
Assembled dust shield to nearside rear axle. Cleaned out seal lands and bellows seals. Fitted new oil seal felt both sides then refitted bellows seals with clean oil to mating surfaces. Resurfaced brake linings (full ppe and breathing mask) to remove ridges that will otherwise mess up adjustment. Cleaned brake shoe pivot pins ready to fit shoes. Examined drums for wear and decided that apart from a score on inside edge on one, they will live.
