Yesterday I made and fitted a repair section to the frame rear of the offside rear wheelarch.  Today I finished that repair by sanding the profile of the old and new pieces to a good line.  Next I drilled the cross bearer below the forward side of the emergency door ready to accept new steel reinforcement flitch plates.  In the late afternoon I cut and finished the new flitch plates ready for drilling tomorrow.

The last few days have been concerned with removing the offside wheel housing and mudwing.  I found the timber in the wheelarch framing to be in much better condition than the nearside and it looks savable.  Today was spent removing the remains of the steel flitchplates  that join the floor bearer to the wheelarch timbers.   The floor bearer at this location is in fairly rough condition so I will make larger steel reinforcement plates to extend further into the centre of the body.

Other work over the last few days has been applying primer to the ply sections for boot interior lining.

The last couple of days were spent continuing the reconstruction of the wheelarch frame.  First, I  completed all the sections to make up the repair for the lower siderod aft of the wheelarch.  The following day I fitted the side rod vertical aft of the wheelarch which required a lap joint with the good part of the original side rod.  Then I was able start to build the wheelarch timbering down to the side rod, which took quite a lot of trial fitting and adjustment using the wheelarch moulding to ensure the final shape was correct.    Almost all the parts have been made and assembly should be completed tomorrow.

The completed the NSR wheelarch timbering , which job included shaping the aft vertical.
