Continued working on the perimeter rail timber today, I finished cutting the floor rebate and then cut the slots for the side rods in the timber for the nearside. These still need a bit of finishing to get a good fit.

Today was a fruitful day. This morning I completed removal of the steel flitch plates in the nearside of the boot and ground down the remains of those bolts that I could not remove in order to provide a smooth location for the new steel, when the time comes.
I then sanded all the loose paint and dirt off the underside of the boot floor and crossmembers ready for painting when the framing has been repaired in this area.
Finally I cut out the rotten lower section of the third siderod rearwards from the wheelarch and cut and shaped a repair section ready for fitting.

Yesterday and today were spend manufacturing a rather complex shaped piece of timber to repair the siderod just aft of the NSR wheelarch. This needs to provide location for the boot floor perimeter rail and the lower perimeter rail along the rear of the bus. This piece is about ready to be installed but requires a little more adjustment and cutting to suit the body tumblehome.
